Fritz calls this kind of performance "superreal." You're supposed to stand up, tell a few jokes, do a little dance, sing a little song, maybe throw in a magic trick or two... but what really happens, what goes wrong, is far more entertaining.
Echoes of Andy Kaufman in this absurd performance that makes fun of everyone involved-- performer, audience, and you and me. The guy sounds like a Werner Herzog from Brooklyn.
